Doctor Bird Home care is a non- medical in- home service providing care throughout the Metro Atlanta region. The name Doctor Bird is inspired by the national bird of Jamaica – a humming bird known for its grace, beauty, vibrancy and resilience. In Jamaican culture, the Doctor Bird is believed to carry healing energy and spiritual presence. Naming this business after it is no coincidence as it reflects the spirit we bring into every home we serve; vibrant, strong, gentle, and full of purpose.

With a heart rooted in service and values and grounded in integrity, we bring professionalism, discipline and care into all that we do. We believe in providing not only excellent care, but intentional care – care that is thoughtful, tailored and infused with warmth, patience and purpose.

Doctor Bird Home Care was founded by Rushell Wilson, a Certified Nursing Assistant who has a legal background as a trained and certified Paralegal. Rushell saw the need for the service but with an extra touch of compassion. She is not just the founder – she is a present, engaged and deeply committed part of every client’s care journey. Her approach is hands-on, heart-first, and detail-oriented. She remains involved, accessible, visible, and ready to serve by showing up, listening carefully, and staying connected to every family, every caregiver and every outcome.
